Rose colored glasses.

I am learning that in order to see the world in a positive light, one must have a pair of rose colored glasses. That isn't to say, that we can't be realistic about our circumstances or that we have to be naive about the world around us but it would be helpful to block out negative influences. this is just an observation.

Get a diary

Ok, here we go on a soapbox rant. I actually have to think hard when I write an entry because in my opinion there are certain things better left unsaid on line. I know we all need to vent but honestly, that's what a diary is for. This is just an observation but with the rise of blogging and social network sites, people seem to be losing too much because of what they are willing to put into cyberspace. They can lose friends or jobs, and even worse, families can be split up because of something that has been put into a blog or Facebook. If something needs to be said, say it or write in a diary. There is much less risk that the information will bite you that way.

Kids define 'love' for Valentine's Day

Kids define what love is.

Love

Happy Valentines day! I just thought I would express my graditude for my friends and family. I love each one. I have been thinking lately about love. It has nothing to do with the material things people give each other. It has more to do with what you feel and do for each other on a daily basis. Valentines day doesn't have to be a day to spend alot of money especially when you don't have a lot of it to spend. Be creative. Do little things that you normally wouldn't. Well, I hope everyone has a good day today and I hope you get and give little acts of kindness.

Hermit mode, projects, and a blog giveaway

I have been feeling like doing a lot of sleeping lately and I can't begin to figure out why, I guess that's why they call it the "hermit mode" All I want to do is crawl in bed and sleep for a week. Is that ok? No? Ok. I'm up.
Well, as you can guess, as a mom of a two year old I stay pretty busy. When we aren't chasing our dogs around the back yard or covered from head to toe in paint, we are at the park or playing with his best friends. I'm so glad that he has friends here. I love knowing that he is happy.
I also have three or four crochet projects going at any given time as well as an ongoing battle with a pair of knitting needles. I forgot how hard knitting is. Hats off to anyone who can do it without having a tangled mess. I have decided to have a giveaway in september. By then, I will figure out how to post pictures of my work on here. Bye for now!

Ready for spring

As I sit here contemplating how cold it has been lately.  I can't help but miss the California weather.  I am looking forward to springtime and getting out to start a garden.  So far, I have seeds for strawberries, pumpkins, and peppers.  I love to garden.  Getting dirty is relaxing.  I love eating fresh fruits and Veggies.  I hope that having a garden will encourage my little one to eat more of these as well.
