Slowly but surely things are improving at the gym. I lost two pounds! Yay! I just have to take it easy on myself and remember It has been a really long time! I am slowly working up to what I used to do during a work out. If someone tells you that the weight will come off once your child is running, don't count on it. Losing weight takes work.
I know I need to spice things up around the blog. Once I figure out how to add pictures, I will be adding some of my work. I have several projects I am working on and I want to tackle new projects as well. I will keep everyone posted!
This is an "anything" blog. I want to write when I feel inspired. I hope that some of the future topics will inspire others. Take chances on something new. Take those chances on anything new and I promise you will learn.

The gym and other things
I started the gym two weeks ago in the quest to get my old body back. I a not doing this because of what people might think. I'm doing it for me! I'm doing it so that I can have more energy and so I can feel better about the way I look. I've never really had a positive self image but it has gotten worse lately. I figure the only way to change that is to get off my butt and do something about it! blogging is still new to me but I thought I'd track the progress here. So far, I haven't noticed much of a change except that I have become more aware of what I eat and portion size.
It helps that I have the best motivation to stay healthy and that is my little boy.

Tired of the "Us against you" mentality
There is something I have noticed quite a bit lately. That is that there are extremes on both sides of the political debate. It is something that I can no longer stay quiet about. There is a popular assumption that just because there is one freak in a bunch that the rest are all like that. In light of the tragic events that happened in Arizona, I have heard people say that all republicans are the type of people who would shoot someone because they happen to be democrat. I believe that this young man must have been troubled because his actions are not that of a normal person.
My heart goes out to his family as well as the families of the victims.
We need to judge each other fairly based on our actions not those of others. Have a good day today and give someone a hug.

Yeah I know....
Today is the first day in over six years that I will be setting foot in a gym. I am looking forward to that part. I have always liked work outs. Crazy, right? What I'm not looking forward to is tomorrow and the pain associated with going to the gym for the first time in more than six years. I just have to remind myself that the pain is only temporary and the payoff will be worth it!
Now to tackle the eating healthy part.......This link will help.http:jorgecruise.com

New year..... New goal
So here it is January. Wow! Where does time go? I can't believe we just flew through Christmas! Time to make new goals for myself and not the standard " I want to lose weight" kind. I am hoping that will be accomplished by the end of the year. My goal is to take things one day at a time and just make smart choices when there is one to be made. This will hopefully help in every area of my life. By taking things one day at a time,,I hope this will be easier to stick to.
I want to learn and explore new things and just have a brighter outlook on life!
