I sat down to write and instead drew... a blank.  I have been having a very hard time lately.  It's not just one thing, it's everything.  It's getting to me and I feel like I'm going to crack.  The worst thing is I don't have anyone to talk to. and I don't have the option to crawl in bed and stay there.  I miss having friends close by.  I miss having extended family around.  It's got to be better than this.

  1. I am sorry to see your sadness here. I live in Arizona alone with my husband, my daughter is now away in college. We moved out here before she was born. My family is in PA. I think that is why I am so passionate about my bear making, it is my source of peace as well as entertainment.

It is very hard being a stay at home mom. When she went to 1st grade I got a little part time job at her school. It was a wise thing for me to do. I do socializing on the internet. It helps to find friends with the same interest as me. I hope you feel better soon.

  2. Yes.. the world is not the same place it used to be.. with technology people are less likely to venture out of their homes and enjoy each others company... but at the same time more are connecting and meeting online. Most of these people probably would have never met each other had it not have been for the computers, iphones, and ipods. It is hard when you miss your old friends from back home.. but I am sure that you could make some new ones. Sometimes it requires you to step out of your comfort zone and go out and meet some people. I think that the friendliest people are the ones you find doing good for their community, and making the world a better place for their kids, as well as everyone else. Often times people find that when they do something good for someone else it makes them feel good in return.. and volunteer work doesn't necessarily have to be getting down in the mud and cleaning up trash (unless you would like to do that) but there are actually a lot of cool artsy things you can do to improve your community like crocheting sweaters, and blankets for the homeless so that they will not be cold during the winter. My mom actually does work at a local church and sews clothes for the people in the military who were injured and now wear prosthetics (regular clothes do not fit them anymore so it is difficult for them to find things to wear..) If you like animals the animal shelter is a fun place to work at and make a difference... the list just goes on and on :).
